Classic Rock Revelation and Reorientation Continues in 2009

The classic rock band Journey is experiencing a career resurrection - riding the wave of excitement brought on by their recent award winning Revelation CD. Equally revealing was the talent embodied by their new lead singer - Filipino Arnel Pineda - who was plucked from obscurity after being discovered by the band's founder and guitarist Neal Schon on YouTube.

After a mostly sold-out world tour in 2008 the band reappeared in 2009 on the global stage when they performed as the opening act for Super Bowl XLIII to a worldwide television audience. Now, the San Francisco based quintet is poised to conquer more territory and add to their already historic fan base as they set their sights for the first time on the Far East.

Journey will undertake a mini-tour of Asia in March that will include stops in Japan and China with the capstone date being March 14, 2009 when they return to Pineda's hometown of Manila for a one night engagement that is sure to make international rock history.

The rock veterans Neal Schon (guitars), Jonathan Cain (keyboards), Ross Valory (bass) and Dean Castronovo (drums) - with Arnel Pineda upfront - are sure to upstage the diplomatic efforts of Hillary Clinton who just wrapped up her first tour of the region as Secretary of State.

Journey is back as a global rock and roll giant in ways that were unimaginable when they ruled the AOR airwaves in the 1980's. Technological convergence combined with baby boomer nostalgia for the band's proven catalogue has created the rock comeback story of the decade - and the journey is still unfolding. As the JBoys make a foray unto new frontiers - frantic fans in the Far East await their arrival with open arms.
