40 FT. RINGO – FUNNY THING: Funny Thing is the latest release from New Jersey rockers 40 FT. Ringo. The four members of the band have played with other groups thus bringing varied experience and ideas to Funny Thing. This thirteen-track CD is an animated collection of rock tunes with hard edges, catchy hooks, beguiling beats and modern melodies. Their influences include the Foo Fighters, Blink 182 and The Offspring. Their music has a wild energy and their well-constructed lyrics reveal a twisted sense of humor. Guitars are the driving force of the CD but tempos are varied and moods most certainly shift. The band has been playing out live and they are well respected for the fire and energy that they bring to performing. Their fun on stage is contagious and carries through to the studio versions of their songs. 'Anyway' the opening track is a solid upbeat rocker with intense guitars and a blazing beat. 'Big Fat Smile' has a big fat sound with guitar-laden chords and solos along with a driving beat and power packed vocals. 'Be My Fix' has an almost Bon Jovi vibe with an interesting drum roll, feisty bass lines and fiery guitars. Overall this CD is an animated collection of heavy guitar sounds, powerful beats and energized vocals. Lots of fun!
