He is now recovering from double-hip replacement performed in early October, but earlier in the year Nils Lofgren spent some time covering a mentor and personal friend of his - Neil Young on The Loner: Nils Sings Neil out now on Vision Music. Nils warmly re-interprets 15 of the most loved tracks in the Canadian's canon. Now, Nils has his sights set on playing at the Super Bowl in February 2009, and that's pretty hip!

CAFEBAR 401 – CAFEBAR 401: Cafebar 401 is based out of the Netherlands and recently signed on with Wampus Multimedia for distribution in the United States. This four-man band brews a fresh, high-energy blend of euro-rock, alternative, pop and emo. Tije Oortwijn the composer and lead vocalist for the band sings with passion and precision. Tije has an incredible vocal range and intensity. The stimulating rhythms and strong guitar leads of Cafebar 401 will jolt you like a good cup of coffee. Their debut CD is potent and in particular the first three eye opening tracks. 'Full-pro Disco' has a hard driving beat speeding over the main refrain of the song as the guitar riffs race, yet the song still takes a number of musical turns along the way. 'Many Left Here Long Before' is more melodic with memorizing vocals, dynamic instrumentation and later in the song experimental electronic sounds. 'Senses Working Overtime' has a dark edgy vibe with a heavy beat and dramatic guitar licks. But the power punch of the song is the high note vocal hooks layered over forceful instrumentation. Cafebar 401 is a premium blend of modern rock and memorizing melodies!

CAMILLE BLOOM – WITHIN ME: Within Me is the debut release from singer, songwriter and guitarist Camille Bloom. By day Camille is a high school teacher and at night a rocker playing gigs. Bloom has appeared as both a solo artist and in a band. This thirteen-track collection features Camille on lead vocals and guitars as well as other proficient players on drums, bass and piano. Her musical style is acoustic based with an alternative edge and shades of folk and funk. Camille sites modern rockers such as Vertical Horizon, Sheryl Crowe and others as influences. Bloom writes hard-hitting lyrics about personal experiences and life. She sings with intensity and power yet her vocals are velvety and sweet, an intriguing combination. Camille's songs have memorable hooks, edgy guitar rhythms and plenty of innovations. 'Jimmy' is a poignant song about the death of a nineteen year old. Camille's vocals are rich and reflective on this acoustic tale. 'Painted on Smile' has a snappy beat an edgy hook and features commanding singing and lyrics. '17' is another catchy song with a strong beat, subtle acoustic tones and versatile vocals. Camille Blooms is off to a notable start with her first CD as Within Me is impressive!

CAMP SUSANNAH – HAPPY TODAY: Susannah Blinkoff is a singer and writer who was born and raised in New York City. Susannah has been professionally singing since the eighth grade. Her resume includes Broadway, clubs, movies, theater and TV. Happy Today is her debut solo project, which features a band of talented players and producers who between them have worked with Liz Phair, Macy Gray, Maimou and Rufus Wainwright. Susannah writes clever lyrics layered over a musical style that is mainly pop but dabbles in the ethereal and jazz. Her arrangements are mostly up-tempo tunes utilizing a variety of textures, tones and moods. Susannah has a crisp, versatile vocal style ranging from sexy to playful. This twelve-track collection has plenty of captivating rhythms, solid musicianship and witty, well-executed songs. 'way OK (remix)' starts off with a sort of spacey vibe before the hang drum and programming speeds up the pace. The song returns to the original tempo and than kicks up again as Susannah's rich vocals round out the mix. It is followed by the title track with its catchy beat that is tastefully contrasted with slightly somber keyboards and winds. Susannah uses an array of vocal techniques to give the song textures of light and darkness, adding to the theme of rising above negative circumstances and being "happy today". 'Too Small' flows on a mid-tempo beat, accented by keys, the acoustic guitar and more stellar singing from Susannah. Happy Today is a strong, diverse debut for the multi-talented Susannah and her camp! Have fun!

CARDINAL TRAIT – YOU ALREADY KNOW: Cardinal Trait is a four-man band based out of Oklahoma. The core members come from a diversity of musical influences such as country, metal and rap yet collectively their sound is melodic rock with a touch of modern pop. Aaron Vaughn, who is the lead vocalist and one of two guitarists, has a voice and inflection reminiscent of Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20. Yet their music is fresh and original. Mark Sullivan, the lead guitarist, is steady throughout and soars on a number of solos on this ten-track collection. Rhythms by Josh Vaughn on drums and Will Porter on bass provide a brawny beat and guest player Andrew Frye on the Hammond organ fills out the band's sound. You Already Know is Cardinal Trait's debut and in conjunction with live shows is helping the band to build a following. The CD as a whole is solid but I particularly liked the first three songs, which featured strong guitar work, snappy rhythms and energized vocals. Cardinal Trait starts with the fundamentals of modern rock and ends with a quality CD featuring skilled musicianship and catching songs!

CAROL AMES – SHADES OF INDIGO: Carol Ames is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. Carol is an award winning musician and Shades of Indigo is her third release. Ames has a beautiful voice and her band is first class. The CD production is polished allowing each instrument to be heard as Ames's versatile vocals soar. Carol pens lyrics about life, places and relationships that unfold like well-written stories. Carol draws from a variety of influences including adult alternative, Americana, country, jazz, pop and rock. All twelve songs on this CD have something special to offer with a diversity of instrumentation and Carol's rich, expressive vocals. 'Nothin' But a Heartache' is about moving on after a bad relationship. A fiddle gives the track a country feel but the up-tempo pulse and Ames' spirited vocals energize it. 'Underneath the Texas Sky' is a slower more reflective song with vibrant instrumentation – especially the jam towards the end – and Ames' singing is stellar. 'West Virginia' features delicate yet intricate instrumentation blending perfectly with Carol's vocals that are subtle yet powerful. Carol Ames is a voice to be heard and Shades of Indigo is vibrant ranging from soft hues to deep moods!

CAROLE KING – THE LIVING ROOM TOUR: Carole King is a legendary singer and songwriter as well as guitarist and pianist. In the 60's, with co-writer Gary Goffin, Carole penned over fifty songs that made it into the Top 40 and defined a generation. In 1971, King hit another milestone with the release of Tapestry. Since then, Carole has written over 400 songs that have been recorded by numerous artists scoring many hit singles and number ones. The Living Room Tour is a two-disk, twenty-seven track collection of live performances taped at three venues. The CDs are a broad retrospective of Carole's career played in a stripped down, acoustic setting. Carole is still in excellent voice and supported by first-rate players. King, who had not toured in over a decade, decided that she wanted the shows to be intimate. Carole crafted a living room set and chose to play cozy theaters bringing her music back to the basics. The CD also includes a booklet with some history and thoughts on the song selections. The book and disk one opens with 'Welcome To My Living Room' – a witty, poetic greeting that sets the warm tone of the rest of the CD. Carole quickly makes a connection with her audience with this welcome and encouraged the crowd to sing and clap along. Disk one ends with a wonderful medley of songs from King's days with Goffin. The second disk offers two new songs that were written with band mate Gary Burr. Disk two includes heartfelt interpretations of such classics as 'So Far Away', 'I Feel The Earth Move' 'Natural Women' and 'You've Got A Friend'. The CD also includes a few lesser-known gems. The Living Room Tour is a must have for King's fans and rock historians. Carole King's body of work is immense and timeless and this two CD disk set captures decades of magic.

CAROLYN JUSTICE – OUT OF THE FAST LANE: Carolyn Justice is a singer, songwriter, guitarist and producer. Carolyn's songs incorporate classic country instrumentation in musical settings that are uplifting with hints of bluegrass, pop and rock. Justice is a colorful storyteller writing real songs about hard times, life, love and summertime. Her ten-track collection is reminiscent of simpler times but rich in imagery and imagination. Carolyn's production style is clear-cut and her band is sharp. Justice has a strong, sweet voice combined with concise execution. The CD opens with the title track, featuring an up-tempo rhythm, twangy guitars and Carolyn's spirited vocals. It is followed by 'Rain in Arizona' a reflective ballad with shimmering instrumentation. 'Grandma's Diary' is a nostalgic tune accented by country guitars, fiddle and piano. Carolyn Justice may be Out Of The Fast Lane but she is on the road to success with her down-home original music!

CASAVERDE – HIGHER ME, HIRE ME: Higher me, Hire Me is the debut release from Ken Greenhouse aka Casaverde. Ken is a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. He is a one-man band who handles everything from guitars, to drums, to vocals. Greenhouse has played in many bands but decided to do a solo project with producer DJ Ice Cream Spooky Cup. His music is a blend of alternative, pop and rock and roll with no rules. Casaverde utilizes a unique technique of melding unexpected key changes with intriguing guitar leads. The pace throughout this eleven track CD is mostly mid-tempo utilizing layered instrumentation and harmonies. Ken sings with zest and brings varied tones to his craft. I thought the first two songs 'Too Little Too Late' and 'Endless Rain' were the strongest. Both have an energetic and slightly experimental feel with interesting direction changes. Creative chord structures give this CD edge and originality. Although Higher me, Hire Me is not perfect it does demonstrates that Casaverde is a creative artist with plenty of promise.

CASAVERDE – LOOKING GOD IN THE EYE: Ken Greenhouse aka Casaverde is a one-man band handling vocals and a variety of instruments on his second solo release. This ten-track collection ranges from sixties power pop to rock, to punk and alternative. Casaverde sings with heart, utilizing a diversity of styles and moods on this mostly up-tempo CD. Casaverde likes to use unexpected stops and key changes in combination with heavy guitars, layered over the vocals and other instruments that he is playing. The opening title track has an edgy guitar lead with a catchy, clapping beat. 'If You Know Me You'll Know' features feisty guitars and the song is executed with a bit of a punk attitude. 'The Magic' has a slower, darker tempo and tone. Casaverde's sophomore release is a melting pot of ideas and musical stylings that is original and interesting!

CASUAL BLUE – EVERYONE: Everyone is the first full-length release from Northern New Jersey rockers Casual Blue. This four-man band blends rock, punk and alternative into their own unique sound. Their style has been compared to Vertical Horizon and Toad the Wet Sprocket. Everyone was produced by Paul Antonell who is well respected for his work on Natalie Merchant's Tiger Lily. His expertise brings a polished production to this eleven-track roots rock collection. Since their inception in 1996, Casual Blue has been playing the club and college circuits in the tri-state area. This young band writes insightful well-crafted songs about lost love, relationships, college and partying. Their music has precise percussions, catchy beats, good guitars, expressive vocals and visual lyrics. 'Can't Imagine' is beat laden with inventive guitar rifts, visual lyrics and dramatic vocals that capture the sorrow of lost love. 'Blur' is shaped by a steady solid beat, cutting edge guitars and animated vocals. 'Blur' will be heard on the October 9th episode of the popular TV show Dawson Creek. Casual Blue has lots of potential with their quality musicianship, balanced arrangements, skillful guitar solos and intimate lyrics. Everyone has ample appeal and should interest a wide range of rock fans. (4,6) [USA/NJ 2001 - web] (2002 Review by Laura Turner Lynch for Kweevak.com)

CAT KINSEY – PERSPECTIVE: Perspective is the first full-length release from singer/songwriter Cat Kinsey. Cat started playing piano at age five and has been immersed in music ever since. Her influences include Suzanne Vega, Ricky Lee Jones and Ani Difranco. Hints of those inspirations are incorporated into Kinsey's unique style of progressive folk rock. Cat's vocal technique is similar to the soulful style of jazz singers. Cat's lyrics are profound and reflective with dramatic visual images. Kinsey's eleven-track collection revolves around soft textured guitar chords and vocals. Her music is accented with the cello, the banjo, the mandolin, the clarinet and subtle percussion. Cat co-produced her freshman CD with Chad Hinman who is also one of the talented players on this album. The opening track 'Off the Bus' is poetic and well crafted and sets the overall insightful tone of the CD. 'When in Doubt' unfolds with the banjo as it merges into poignant instrumentation that melds into the rich storytelling that is Cat's specialty. Perspective is a stark, serious collection showcasing compelling songwriting!

CATMAN COHEN – HOW I WANT TO DIE: Catman Cohen is a composer and talk-sing vocalist. Catman's musical vision is supported by a diversity of players, producers and singers. Cohen writes serious, spiritual songs that tackle social issues. Cohen's style is rock based with slight tones of rap and Yiddish. Catman's music is totally unique yet his messages are universal. 'How I Want To Die' is the opening title track. It is a striking tribute to those in the rescue fields. It has a dreamy soundscape contrasted with Catman's deep talk layered with the sweet voice of Amy Court. 'The Crime of Being Me' features Jimmy Swan an inspired vocalist who sings passionately about prejudice. The instrumentation and in particular, the soaring guitars and poignant pianos, are also moving. 'Baby, Am I Too Late?' also addresses a bias, in this case age. The arrangement and varied voices add to the power of the song. How I Want To Die is dark and dramatic yet hopeful in its intent to inspire positive changes in a world gone bad. I hope that Catman Cohen and his crew can accomplish this high calling through their compelling songs!

CATMAN COHEN: THE CATMAN CHRONICLES 2 – HOW I WANT TO LIVE: Catman Cohen is a composer, singer and talk vocalist. Catman writes meaningful songs about environmental issues, social concerns and tributes to rescue workers. Catman's music is a diverse blend of electronica, sound effects and rock theater. Cohen is supported by a team of talented players, producers and vocalists. All fifteen tracks on his second release are unique. Each song could be from a different band with the assortment of people involved but the unifying force is Cohen's supportive, distinctive vocals and his vision. 'Water Is Blood' starts off with a strong, steady rhythm and then Catman's ominous warning that "in the 21st century, all major wars will be water wars." Despite the solemn topic the instrumentation is snappy yet turns more dark and urgent as the song progresses. Lead vocalists, Henry Iglesias and Sarah Taylor convey their message with passion and power. 'Captain Of Industry' is another hard-hitting tune criticizing corporate greed. It has a catchy beat, dynamic instrumentation and potent, harmonizing vocals. 'Ingrid Knows Who I Am' is an intense instrumental starting off with passionate piano and picking up the pace with Latin inspired guitars and rhythms. Cohen's music is blunt and intriguing. Catman not only expresses his concern for the world but has pledged to donate 20% of the net profits from How I Want To Live to organizations that prevent the privatization of water.

CAVEMAN – BEFORE THE WORLD: Before the World is the debut release from Caveman. The five members of the band create improvisational instrumentation that is evolutionary! All five are classically trained in jazz and merge their experiences with the influences of John Coltrane and the Grateful Dead. Caveman melds rock, jazz, the blues, tribal and world sounds into mystical music. Their songs are filled with intricate arrangements, masterful instrumentation, varied tempos, diversity and polished techniques. They are musical shamans telling tales about Native Americans, the environment and universal themes. Their songs range from festive to dark, primal to complex, solemn to joyful. This eighteen-track collection is psychedelic, raw, layered and sublime all at the same time. Before the World is a musical journey of unexpected twists and turns. 'Delta Caveman' has funky keys blending into deep bluesy guitars a beguiling beat and passion. Old meets new on this track that also has a bone chilling scream right in the middle. 'National Anthem for a Happy Nation' starts off with an island feel, a happy beat and lots of fun sights and sounds. It has a positive vibe and dynamic instrumental interactions. CECIL PARK – CECIL PARK: Cecil Park's fluid and melodic sounds are delivered in a solid acoustic, alternative-metal framework that leaves the listener guessing: is this mellow or does it rock? We're still not sure. All we know is that we love the sound. Their self-titled debut is the brainchild of band leader Mark Anthony Cantanzriti aka Brutus, whose enigmatic and philosophical poetry seems to be trying tell us something. Brutus is also the guitar player and singer of the band. Adam Weaver on percussions provides solid beats and good bass lines are created by James Young and now Ben Poore. This trio creates tight grooves, good hooks and captivating lyrics. The instrumentation throughout the collection is vibrant skillful and well produced. 'River The Same' is the opening track; it sets the tone for this CD that has a nice mellow flow. It is also a good example of Brutus' poetic style. 'Lisa' has an intriguing sound and haunting words. 'None For Two' is the story of the pain of a broken relationship with very catchy drums. Join Brutus and the band for a stroll through the ethereal haze that covers most songs. Wander through tales of paradise lost in the Eden-like 'Peace in Pavillions' and discover the spiritual declaration of 'No Liaisons.' Every one of the album's twelve tracks is a winner with solid production and musical surprises emerge throughout. Overall Cecil Park is an enjoyable collection of songs from talented musicians and a good songwriter.

CHANNEL – INCH DEEP OCEANS: Channel is Ben Taimi (guitars, lyrics and vocals), Luis Granda (bass) and Matt Heisler (drums). The trio is an alternative rock band with songs that are also experimental and progressive. Ben pens insightful lyrics in arrangements that are bold and bright. This young band is already creating a buzz with their energized live shows and appearances. Channel was featured on a live on-air program at CKCU 93.1FM in Canada and will be on the PBS broadcast "Making It", which should air September of 2006. In the meantime, their second, seven-track CD is potent. The CD rocks from start to finish but I particularly liked the epic "Circle Light". The song starts off with a sort of Spanish influenced guitar solo before meshing with melodic vocals and various rhythms styles. The song clocks in over nine minutes going in a number of diverse directions with distortion, effects and jams. The song also moves to a more heavy sound as it progresses. Channel carries on the tradition of power trios in their own unique, modern way!

CHARLIE READ – READ BETWEEN THE LINES: Charlie Read is a composer, guitarist and bassist. Charlie was greatly influenced by the Ohio rock scene of the early 70's as well as guitar greats such as Clapton and Hendrix. Read has been playing for decades and is also a teacher. Read Between The Lines is his first solo release featuring eleven instrumentals heavy on the electric guitar but supported by bass, drums, keys and rhythm guitar. Charlie often favors Les Pauls but used an American Deluxe Strat on this project. Read's songs brilliantly blend a diversity of genres such as blues, jazz and rock with a variety of skills and techniques. The CD production is crisp and clean and the musicianship is first rate. The CD starts with the short, bluesy rocker 'Why, I Oughta' showcasing Charlie's able chops right from the start. The song fades into 'Circle's End' that spans through a number of tempos and tones rotating from light to heavy and layered over a rock, solid beat. 'Splash Ray' has a feisty groove as Charlie uses a playful yet masterful approach to his leads. 'Then and Now' features edgy licks, smoldering rhythms and spirited keys. Charlie's instrumental debut is animated, melodic and technically strong - a must Read for any collection!

Souza has collaborated with many well-respected artists such as Tom Petty, Gregg Allman and Todd Rundren. Charlie's influences include Paul McCartney and CSN&Y. The CD includes new versions of former releases and a Beatle cover. Charlie's upbeat soft rock abounds in textured tones, rich vocal blends, layered with catchy hooks and first class production. His arrangements range from mellow melodies to hypnotic rockers. Track one is an upbeat positive version of an older song, it is followed by a Utopia influenced composition. The third song and title track 'The Rose' is a serious reflective poem fragrant with romantic visual lyrics. The fourth song is dreamy and mystical. Song five is a crisp clean cover of 'I Will' followed by 'Bring It Back' with its cool percussion, precise guitar work and funky world flavor. The closer is a reprise of Goodbye. The Rose is stunning!

CHERYL HILL – CHANGE: Cheryl Hill is a guitarist, singer and songwriter currently based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Growing up, Cheryl's family moved around a lot making it hard to plant roots but in high school she hooked up with the metal crowd and discovered Ozzy and other hard rockers. Hill has a degree in music business management but Cheryl prefers making music. Change is her third independent release. Hill has played at a variety of festivals and venues. Cheryl's five-track EP was produced by the Grammy nominated team of Johnny Pierce and Jim Emrich. Cheryl is a dramatic, strong vocalist whose music rocks hard. Hill blends her metal influences into modern, straightforward, rock songs. She has a talented, three man band backing her and giving her music a fuller, heavier sound. Cheryl writes thought provoking lyrics with a theme of self-reliance. All five tracks smoke on intense instrumentation and forceful vocals. I happen to like the first song best but the CD as a whole was rock solid!

CHRIS DIFFORD – I DIDN'T GET WHERE I AM: I Didn't Get Where I Am is the first solo release from legendary singer, songwriter and producer Chris Difford. Chris is well respected for the thirteen albums and chart topping hits that he made as a member of the band Squeeze. He has toured the United States and Europe with Squeeze but despite their success he wanted to branch out on his own. His ten-track collection strays from the upbeat diverse pop sound that he created with his former band. Chris has slowed down the pace, yet the keyboards and guitar chords are still animated. Soft subtle beats flow effortlessly through well-constructed songs. Production and arrangements are flawless. Difford experiments with a variety of styles including adult contemporary and country. 'A World That Passed Me By' is a great song reminiscing about Difford's musical past. His lyrics are creative and the dreamy keys played on "a very old Hammond Organ drum box" carry along the reflective mood of the song. The beat has an almost jazz feel that blends beautifully with Chris' crisp clean vocals. 'Playing with Electric Trains' is also another nostalgic trip. The song was originally covered by Squeeze but Difford has completely revamped it with a country flair. The hook line is still catchy and showcases Chris' wide vocal range. I Didn't Get Where I Am demonstrates Difford's growth as an artist and is a diverse musical montage!

Chrisie has a tattoo on her left ring finger as a constant reminder that she is married to her music. Santoni's craftsmanship is apparent in her songs, which are a blend of rock, soul and funky pop. She has been compared to Janis Joplin and Jewel but has her own unique style. Her vocals are crisp, clear wild and passionate. 'Fall For Me' has a catchy beat, textured guitars and versatile vocals. 'Who I Am' has groovy guitars, an energizing beat, reflective lyrics and varied vocals. Going Home is roots rock that combines empathy, energy and talent into a diverse collection of tracks with a good vibe.

His arrangements are complex, utilizing a variety of tempos and techniques. This fifteen-track CD features first-rate instrumentals and quality vocal numbers. 'Parade' is the strong opener. It is a pageant of both whimsical and serious textures and tones. The song features sax, bagpipes and even an Irish tin whistle. It is a dynamic start that sets the vibe for the rest of the CD. 'Bayou City' was written for Chris's older brother who introduced White to Earl Klugh and David Sanborn, possible inspirations to this spicy instrumental. '9 Days' captures the euphoric feel of new love with a sexy saxophone and cool beat. 'Goodbye' is a classic jazz instrumental and a solid close for a collection that shines from start to finish. Chris White and Playtime are stellar and Hideaway is a jazz CD with plenty of pizzazz!

CHRISTEL RICE – TUNNEL VISION: TUNNEL VISION is the latest release from Christel Rice a flutist based out of Colorado. At a young age Christel started studying and playing the flute. Rice who grew up in Philadelphia has performed in orchestras and quartets. When she moved out west for a change of scenery she discovered a vibrant Irish music scene. Coming from an Irish background she was soon entranced by the traditional music of her heritage. Building on two decades of experience she was soon able to master a new genre replacing her 'modern silver instrument with its wooden counterpart'. Currently she is a member of the Irish folk band the Wayfarers who performs in the Colorado region at festivals, theaters and area pubs. The Wayfarers along with other talented musicians including a bassist, a fiddler and a tabla player appear on TUNNEL VISION. Every track is full sounding and the instrumentation is flawless. Rice is a prolific player and her spirited instrumentals are delightful and dynamic. All five songs on this CD are wonderful. Rice and the other musicians truly capture the lively energy and sprit of Irish gigs. Enjoy!

CHRISTINE KANE – RAIN AND MUD AND WILD AND GREEN: Christine Kane is a singer, songwriter and guitarist from Asheville, North Carolina. Christine's style has been described as "an organic and sometimes raw mix of tight acoustic textures and rhythms serving as a dynamic backdrop for her earthy and elegant voice." In addition to her solo career Kane has toured with such legends as The Beach Boys, Los Lobos and Rosanne Cash. She has played many live shows to perfect her craft but also has performed at many benefit shows for humanitarian causes. This folk acoustic artist is also concerned about the environment as expressed in her songs and the paper rather than plastic CD cover. Christine composes authentic, honest songs about everyday life and her own personal experiences. Kane writes deep poetic lyrics but also has a good sense of humor as demonstrated in the funny 'Girls Like That.' Christine's songs are full of life expressing hope and disappointment, vulnerability and strength. Rain and Mud and Wild and Green is Kane's latest release and contains eleven meaningful songs. Christine is supported by talented musicians and with the skills of Ben Wisch has produced a high quality CD that has many layers. 'The Way Clouds Do' has expressive vocal inflections and very visual lyrics accompanied by nice guitar work and the dobro. I thoroughly enjoyed the flow, feel and message of 'Everything Green' inspired by Julia Butterfly Hill. It is a juxtaposition of the celebration of nature and sorrow for its destruction. Great pedal steel and banjo playing accent 'Everything Green.' Overall this is a first class CD with beautiful vocals, solid instrumentation and masterful production.

CHRISTOPHER CASH – HOLLYWOOD MIRAGE: Christopher Cash is a singer, songwriter and guitar player. Christopher has performed in a number of groups but Hollywood Mirage is his solo debut. A talented band adding rock instrumentation along with piano, organ, sax and cello supports Cash. Christopher's sound is a mix of 60's pop and 80's new wave. Christopher's influences include The Beatles, Lou Reed and others whose soft fingerprints may also be found in Cash's original compositions. The fifteen-track CD weaves themes of Hollywood throughout its storytelling. Songs range from ballad-like to up-tempo rockers exploring the darkness and glamour of tinsel town. Even the album cover art is reminiscent of an old movie. The CD production is good and the musical accents and arrangements are colorful. I particularly liked 'Hollywood Mirage' and 'Cynthia's Smile'. Both featured vivid storytelling layered over a rich tapestry of strong and subtle instrumentation. All fifteen songs have a distinctive sound and subject. Christopher Cash blends the best of classic and modern styles into distinctive musical dramas!

CHRISTOPHER WILLIAMS – SIDE STREETS LIVE: Side Streets Live is the latest release from singer/songwriter Christopher Williams. This thirteen-track collection was recorded at Club Passim in Boston, Massachusetts. Club Passim is a hometown venue for Christopher and the local crowd is respectful and appreciative of Williams' music. In addition to vocals, Christopher proficiently plays guitar, djembe and harmonica on this folk rock CD. He is supported by Danny Donnelly on guitars, Dobro and vocals and David Miner on bass and vocals. Christopher writes profound lyrics and sings with sweet sincere emotions. The instrumentation throughout this CD is crisp and clear. The production and playing is especially clean for a live album. Side Streets Live has a soft, friendly feel to complement reflective songs. Williams states "I love being in front of an audience with just my guitar and drum, trying different things musically each night." Williams enjoys changing musical directions and he subtly alters moods on his songs that flow softly and smoothly. His passion for music is captured on this live CD. Christopher tours extensively and has many dates lined up for the summer season. 'Never Wrong' and 'Take Me Higher' are fine examples of Christopher's guitar and vocal skills. CHUCK BRIMER – I'M GONNA BE YOUR HERO: Well, North Carolina native Chuck Brimer just might be your next musical hero. This CD contains a baker's dozen worth of hot and fresh tracks that have been cooked up by Chuck and his fine band using an eclectic recipe of rock, country, pop and rockabilly. At times Brimer sounds like a combination of John Mellencamp, Darius Rucker, Southside Johnny, Jon Bon Jovi and Brian Setzer. Brimer should follow the coast up to Asbury Park because his blue collar rock would fit in nicely with the legendary Jersey shore sound and scene. Chuck's band members span a 50 year age difference and the tunes on the CD reflect musical highlights from the 50's to present day. Infused with 50's rock, 60's style R&B and good old rock and roll I'm Gonna Be Your Hero could be your first lesson in rock history on CD-ROM. 'Still In Your Heart' is an R&B ballad that has got a lot of soul and will remain in your head - a Jersey shore sound in that Eddie and the Cruisers vein. 'Summer' is a joyous rocker that would be great to see performed live in the warmer months! The title track ventures a bit into in your face psychedelic rock with Chuck seeking a heroine to play opposite his hero role. Brimer's song writing reflects a personal journey and he calls the disc a musical collection of happiness, joy, sadness, pain, and woe - all wrapped up in an album that rocks more often than not. Chuck Brimer's latest CD is powerful and super!

CINEMA8 – CINEMA8: Cinema8 is the self-titled debut release from Cinema8. The band is the vision of singer/songwriter Michael Sauri, who also plays piano and is also the lead guitarist on this ten-track collection. Influences include The Beatles, 70s era Aerosmith, arena rock and 80s guitar gods. The band has been touring extensively. In February 2002, Cinema8 backed ten United States Olympic Athletes who sang "All I've Got." In October, a video for the guitar powered moody "Bleed" is scheduled for release and should give this well deserving band plenty of exposure. Cinema8 is a guitar-driven rock CD. It is cinematic with a variety of moods and styles. Sauri's lyrics are a mixture of poetry, mythology and compositions that people can identify with. Michael's vocals can start from a "whisper and climax at a scream in songs that are packed with both muscle and melody." The instrumentation throughout the CD is solid and creates intriguing soundscapes to complement Sauri's musical montages. 'Thoughts of You' is a very visual song with jamming guitars and vigorous vocals. 'Lover' is sexy with heavy almost metal guitars, a steady beat and plenty of drive. The group describes their music as "N'awlins jungle spiked with Beatle funk mixed in with rootsy reggae and ska space splat." The New Orleans inspired groove is apparent throughout this fifteen-track collection but there are also traces of funk, boogie, gospel and the fore mentioned styles. Their songs have lots of hooks, improvisational jams and thoughtful lyrics. The CD as a whole has a festive feel and the musicianship is center stage. CODY MARKS – IN HER STATE: It's not the destination but the journey and on her debut full-length CD the California-based Cody Marks reveals the life passages and challenging path that now find her In Her State. Determined and undeterred Marks put an early band together and began to learn the ropes while she honed her craft which has resulted in a style described as Janis Joplin meets Johnny Cash. This New Jersey based trio creates modern rock music with tight arrangements, minimalist instrumentation and expressive vocals that are reminiscent of Jacob Dylan. CRACKER – GET ON WITH IT: Get On With It: The Best Of Cracker contains the definitive original versions of the band's early-'90s classics "Low," "Get Off This" and the #1 Modern Rock anthem "Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)." The 15-track CD include fan favorites as well as deeper album cuts for the Cracker connoisseur. Cracker frontman David Lowery broke onto the music scene with alternative outfit Camper Van Beethoven in the 1980s. Although CVB split in 1990, Lowery had honed his musical tastes and made a very positive impression on the music industry. His next group, Cracker, was quickly signed to Virgin Records. Lowery teamed with John Hickman (guitar) and Dave Faragher (bass) and together they launched a highly successful career blending their country roots with a modern alt-rock sound. The final Cracker line-up kept Lowery and Hickman, and added to the mix Kenny Margolis (keyboards, percussion), Frank Funaro (drums) and Victor Krummenacher (bass, vocals). The result was five highly popular albums for Virgin Records, including their self-titled 1992 debut, which featured the #1 Modern Rock anthem "Teen Angst (What The World Needs Now)" and 1993's Gold-certified Kerosene Hat, which contained the radio mega-hit "Low" and critic-favorite "Euro-Trash Girl." CRAIG BICKHARDT – EASY FIRES: Easy Fires is the latest release from singer/songwriter Craig Bickhardt. Craig has sewn an interesting music tapestry. Heavily influenced by the California music scene of the 1970's, he absorbed ideas from The Eagles, Jackson Browne and CS&N. He played the east coast club circuit and in time was opening for the likes of Bruce Springsteen and Stephen Stills. Later he moved to LA to perfect his writing skills and eventually moved to Nashville. Over the years he has penned songs and hits for a variety of artists including Art Garfunkle, Anne Murray and Martina McBride. Craig creates beautiful soundscapes through his articulate, visual lyrics. His vocals are clear, smooth and soulful. Bickhardt writes about love, loss, spirit and everyday events that are conveyed in timeless images and haunting melodies. Craig weaves rock, folk, country and Celtic into amazing arrangements. Craig is supported by talented musicians and expert production on this twelve-track compilation. The title track 'Easy Fires' has a Celtic flare, haunting vocals, powerful lyrics and soft subtle instrumentation. 'Sugarcane Street' is an idyllic place with crisp imagery and eloquent lyrics "time seems to flow slow as molasses, past row upon row of white weathered fences, where kind neighbors meet". The mandolin and fiddle adds to the dreamy peaceful flow of this scene. 'I Can't Turn the Tide' ebbs and flows on the sweet sound of flutes, birds and the Autoharp. Beautiful backing vocals, by Wendy Waldman drifts effortlessly into Craig's silky sound. Poetic lyrics explain the reality that we can't always change things. CRAWDAD – THE ROCK ALBUM: Crawdad was born sometime in the mid 1990's. This four-man band's main focus is rock but their music is touched by classic rock, 80's pop, British and a dash of alternative country. Playing loud and playing hard is a passion for these four musicians/vocalists. Their sound is a combination of high-octane energy, bold bass lines and fueled by strong guitar leads. Occasional mandolin and violin parts softens some edges and adds texture to their songs. Crawdad's lyrics reflect mature songwriting and in some cases are working man anthems. Since all of the band members have day jobs and families, it is only on special occasions that they emerge at regional clubs to play out. Their twelve-track CD is a no nonsense rock album created for the sheer passion of music. Energy and enthusiasm abound on this well produced collection. The CD starts fast and furious on 'Plank Road' with it's heavy guitar chords merging into a funky slightly psychedelic vibe and cruising with a hard driving beat. The song is a nostalgic ride of hometown streets. 'The Glorious Game' is another powerful guitar track layered with commanding beats and overflowing with energy. CRAZY MARY – KNUCKLEHEAD: Knucklehead is the fifth release from Crazy Mary an eclectic band based out of New York City. Crazy as it sounds the band members meet and formed through various jobs at the Bronx Zoo. I don't know if there is a song about it but diversity is the signature style of the group. It is very hard to categorize Crazy Mary as their unique music is a mix of garage band, retro, 90's psychedelic and synthetic sounds. There are also traces of pop, rock, British and possible alternative. Their songs are an exotic mix of electronics, spacey guitars and funky beats. On this collection they are joined by avant-garde violinist Walter Steding and the New York Horns, thus giving their assorted tunes even more variety. This thirteen-track collection features both male and female vocals. 'Brian Jones' is a pert tribute to Jones. The track incorporates funky electronic sounds with subtle sampling of 'Please Go Home' by The Stones. It is a creative mix of alternative sounds and classic rock. 'Land of Jagged Mountains' features Charles Kibel playing electric sitar giving this track a spacey Middle Eastern feel. Sophia Jackson on vocals and finger cymbals is hypnotic. Creative beats, sharp guitars and the violin complete the scene. It is followed by 'Still Water', which has an energetic blues vibe thanks to organ tones, cool beats, slide guitar and the harmonica. Crazy Mary is zany and fun and they cover a wide range of sounds on their latest release Knucklehead!

Crimson Rain's lyrics are filled with encouraging messages layered with upbeat arrangements. Innovative guitar leads and solos are a key part of their sound but a solid beat and raw expressive vocals complete the package. CULANN'S HOUNDS – YEAR OF THE DOG: Culann was an epic Irish warrior and Culann's Hounds embodies the bold energy of this legendary figure. The band loves hero and faerie tales, which subtly weaves their way into their original blend of modern and traditional Irish music. The core of the pack is Steve Gardner (fiddle, guitar, mandolin and vocals), Mike Kelleher (guitar and vocals), Renee de la Prade (button accordion and vocals) and Scott Marshall (bodhran and vocals). Notable guests on their twelve-track CD include John Popper of Blues Traveler. The majority of the songs are animated instrumentals with some earth vocals to tell the tales. The stories are organic and spirited. Arrangements are broad ranging from haunting to more rock inclined tunes. Each song has something unique to offer but I particularly liked the lively 'Twin Peaks', the dynamic 'The Skylark' and a traditional 'The Tennessee Waltz'. Culann's Hounds is writing their own epic with music that respects the past but is also new and novel. 2006 may just be the year of the Hounds!

Sue Ballingall who sings on a number of tracks has a rich voice and wide vocal range. 'Black & White' features Sue on lead vocals accompanied by Nabeel on the Raag. The song has an interesting world sound that defies genres. Colorful beats and electronic techniques complete this intriguing soundscape. 'Bless This Sky' sores on soft but dynamic electronic instrumentation and subtle eloquent vocals. 'Chaos y2k' flows on a steady beat, ambient instrumentation and gentle slightly dark vocals. A well-structured song considering its title. Curfew is a versatile collection that includes contemporary instrumentals, electro with a hint of hip-hop. Very original!

CYAN – CLOUD: Cyan was born and raised in Barcelona Spain, winning early acclaim as a musician. He moved to the United States in 2001 to build on that momentum. Cyan plays guitar, sings, writes and produced his most recent five-track EP. A number of noteworthy collaborators are featured on his artistic Cloud. Cyan pens soulful lyrics about observations and struggles. Cyan is a vocalist who sings from the heart. His music is a flavorful blend of pop-rock with Latin undertones. Each song on the CD is different exploring various musical cultures, textures and tones. I particularly liked 'In My Dreams', which starts off with soft instrumentation and singing, than escalates into a colorful, multipart section, which is the bulk of the song before gently fading out. Cyan is a unique artist creating European pop-rock that has worldwide appeal!

DAMIAN KNAPP – WILL YOU CRY WHEN I DIE: Peter Knapp was a composer and trumpet player interested in jazz. His son Damian, also a musician, was more influenced by the blues and roots rock. Will You Cry When I Die is an unusual collaboration of these two estranged artists. Peter was living in Hawaii, no longer working in music when Damian came for a rare visit and was given a notebook of songs and thoughts written by his father. This notebook became the fodder for Will You Cry When I Die along with some of Damian's own material. Knapp rounded up some of the best local musicians and over the course of two years he arranged and produced his father's words into workable songs. The end result is a diverse blend of styles with a heavy dose of blues and horns. The songs are colorful and vibrant. Damian has an earthy, smoky voice and brings a certain swagger to each song along with some smoking guitar licks. The title track opens the CD with vocals and instrumentation coming together over a bluesy, honky-tonk flavored format with sizzling guitars. 'Maui in the Sun' is bright yet serious with soulful instrumentation and singers. The rest of the following nine-tracks build on the momentum of the first two. Damian Knapp has done his daddy proud with Will You Cry When I Die - a CD full of life and history!

'April Fools' is exuberant with its strong fluid rhythms dancing with jazzy guitar chords as the piano cleverly prods the pace. This thirteen-track collection captures the essence of Dan's gutsy, funny lyrics. The CD features first-rate production and quality instrumentation throughout. Each song has something to offer, I liked the content and tone of 'Baby Bye Bye' and 'Graceland'. Dan Bern continues to astound and win new fans and his latest eclectic mix is a fine example of his talent and wit!

Into the Flow is a thirteen track instrumental CD focusing on acoustic, classical and finger style guitar. The songs reflect a variety of moods and melodies that flow smoothly into one another. Danielle is a commanding and zealous singer with an incredible range. The CD opens with 'Get Over It' an edgy commentary on social and personal issues. Our view: This guy's a keeper!

DAVE PAHANISH – NASHVILLIAN: He is perhaps the most talented indie musician we've ever known with pro level songwriting skills. Her garnered a lot of early attention early on from the indie world and was noted for his McCartney and Springsteen influences on the old MP3.com His first record Anywhere put him on the map and was a mostly high-energy acoustic affair lavished by Dave's many talents. His next CD Shine was perhaps the most incredible 11-song indie project we have ever heard and was an unheralded masterpiece to the ears of those who had ears to hear. That's not to say Mr. Pahanish has been completely overlooked and you may have already heard him perform on TV. His songs have been on MTV and we were recently flipping channels when we heard him in the background of a afternoon soap opera singing 'Love The World' from Anywhere. Our thoughts were - "All right, Dave, the world is starting to hear!" That prompted us to find out what's he's been doing and we discovered that Mr. Pahanish has been honing his craft in Nashville, TN these past few years and he sent us a demo titled Nashvillian which was immediately out of the package and in the player! We're not even sure is this disc is available for public consumption but here's what we liked. 'Gotta Give It Away' captures Dave's embrace of the south with a hook filled refrain inspired by The Band's 'The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down' - this song moves on Dave's fast-paced lyrical delivery which forces you to try and catch the story. And Dave's got stories to tell. I like it. This track sounds like a combo of his first two discs. Uplifting, melodic, hopeful and emotive - all Dave's gifts are on display. 'Without Your Love' is another strong love song with a big chorus and Styx style synths. Reminded me of Dennis DeYoung meets Jackson Browne and as much as Dennis wrote many of his songs for his spouse, many of D.P.'s most touching songs have been penned for his supportive wife. 'I Will' - Wow, wow, wow! Dave have been resilient and persistent in his pursuit of perfect songcraft - all while seeking a rewarding career in music. His has committed himself to this life and it has resulted in a powerful song about commitment. 'I Will' soars on Dave's most plaintive and powerful vocal yet. He gives it all in this song - both to the subject of the song and also in his performance. 'Knew You When' is the obvious follow-up to 'The One That Got Away' from Shine and offers another strange semi autobiographical tale of overcoming critics, getting out of town, and making it big. Pahanish is following his own road map and the songs on Nashvillian confirm his belief in himself! As with any Pahanish CD it's all good and there's too many quality songs too mention them all. Other can't miss tracks are: 'The Deeper We Fall' which is a big song in the vein of Timothy B. Schmidt's Eagles contributions. Another cool track. 'Love Will Find a Way' 'is the hardest rocker on the demo with many layers of upbeat and rhytmic music to carry his affirmations about of the power of love. 'Havin A Ball' is another Eagle and Poco-esque mid tempo piece with nice harmonies and seems to be a tongue in cheek offering about missing someone - but not that much.

DAVE PAHANISH – SHINE: Shine is the sophomore release by singer/songwriter Dave Pahanish. Dave was born in southern Pennsylvania, where he studied piano and eventually switched to the guitar. Pahanish sites a variety of influences including Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young and Joni Mitchell. He has worked hard, playing at coffeehouses and parks to perfect his craft and cultivate his pop rock sound. Dave writes intimate songs that are poignant, spiritual and hopeful. His music addresses the dark side of life but is filled with promise. Pahanish's music is like a rich textured landscape that unfolds as the story is told. Shine is an upbeat and optimistic eleven-track collection. It has a bright ambiance even in its darker moments. Dave sings his soulful melodies with passion and conviction. Pahanish is supported by a fine group of musicians on drums, bass and guitars. The production by Joe West is solid. 'Billy the Kid' opens with an intriguing rift and flows into smooth vocals backed by a steady beat. The title track 'Shine' has a great hook line infused with solid instrumentation. 'Providence' is soft and smooth but cascades into a faster pace and a positive message that we are not alone. Dave Pahanish truly shines on his second release, which is enjoyable like a warm sunny day!

DAVID AARON DESOTO – HOOWRECKER: David Aaron DeSoto is a solo artist, author and an attorney. David co-produced his eleven-track debut with the skillful Ruben Rodriguez. David pens poetic, powerful lyrics in settings that are sparse and serious, thus allowing the guitars and vocals to stand out and take center stage. Yet, his music is colorful and diverse. DeSoto draws from a varied pallet ranging from blues, classical, folk, rock and even world. Although the first three tracks were my favorites the rest of the CD is worthy with thought provoking songs in liberated, lone guitar landscapes. The delivery and jangly tone of the acoustic on the opening track 'Haunting Halo' is immediately inviting but listen closely and the song has a dark undercurrent. 'Last Night' features accomplished, Spanish style picking and slide melding with the compelling, contemplative refrain "last night"... 'Des Lied . . .' creatively blends musical styles, ending with a biting electric outro. The vocal inflections are also interesting with some sounding like soft howls. David Aaron DeSoto is an unique musician crafting songs that are candid and captivating!

Wind Over Texas is David's debut release featuring eleven diverse but delightful songs. Cousino's music draws from a colorful pallet of American rock, blues, country, folk and jazz. He is supported by a talented group of players who add bass, B-3, drums, piano and stringed instruments to David's captivating acoustic and electric guitar leads. The CD is first-rate from start to finish. Of particular note is the full band version of the patriotic 'Keep Old Glory New', the jazzy 'Still A Fool' and the down-home title track. David is a versatile player who has learned from the best and Wind Over Texas reflects Cousino's commitment to his country and his craft!

DAVID FIORENZA – FIOLOGY: David Fiorenza is a singer and songwriter who also plays guitar, mandolin and percussion. David has been performing in the Delaware Valley for over five years as either a solo artist or in duo with Wayne Dowlin and Mike Sapone, who also produced Fiology. This is David's fourth release and is a retrospective of his old and new songs along with remixes and live performances. David sites a diversity of influences from the 60's through the present. Fiorenza's sound is a mix of acoustic, country, folk, pop and rock. The guitar leads are the highpoints on this thirteen track CD, which features well-written, well-arranged songs. David's sings concisely and his voice is a shade smoky, which adds to the integrity of his storytelling. 'Where I'm Goin' is the opening track and the slide work is exquisite. Interestingly, the song has more of a slow rock feel due to the strong rhythm underlying the track rather than a country vibe. It is followed by 'Make You Stay' with its sizzling guitar leads and a mandolin undercurrent. 'Texas' has the air of country combined with inventive instrumentation. David sings the song with just the right twang. David Fiorenza is a talented player and his retrospective captures his vision and wit!

DAVID KNOPFLER – SHIP OF DREAMS: David Knopfler is an activist, composer and producer who also plays guitar, harmonica and piano. In 1977, David with his brother Mark founded the band Dire Straits but within three years David left the group to pursue a different musical course. David is a multi-talented artist who keeps a low profile. He has written numerous songs for himself and others. Knopfler is a first class player and producer and his latest sixteen track CD is a testimony to his talent. Ship of Dreams travels a broad range of styles from sparse arrangements to fully orchestrated pieces. A crew of brilliant musicians adds diversity and drama to David's lush, musical landscapes. Knopfler's lyrics are poetic and rich in visual imagery. Vocally, David sounds like his brother singing his songs with passion. The CD is strong from start to finish. I particularly liked the light yet serious '4U (Rabbit song)' with its rock arrangement. 'Easy street' is a bluesy, edgy song about David meeting the devil who is trying to make a deal. Keys and a solid beat add to the dynamic of the song. 'Shine shine shine' starts off with stark instrumentation with the piano and vocals as the main focus. Subtle horns lead up to the hopeful hook slowly dancing with descriptions of disappointment. David Knopfler has charted his own course and his latest release is dreamy!

DEADLY WEAPON – DEADLY WEAPON: Deadly Weapon is a four man, hard rocking band based out of California. All four members sing and two are producers. Their possible influences included Kiss and 80's metal. Deadly Weapon's energized style is propelled by two heavy guitars, a rock solid rhythm section and dark, daring vocals. Their nine-track, self-titled release features fast, furious riffs, roaring solos and kick ass beats. 'Don't Hesitate' is the strong opener that sets the tone for the rest of the CD. There is no holding back its intense guitar licks and driving beat. 'Whole Lotta Man' has a lot of wailing guitars and vocals layered over a solid rhythm. 'Thunder In The Midnight' is dark and thunderous with its cutting instrumentation. 'Blood For Blood' has racing licks combined with passionate vocals and heart stopping rhythms. 'Always In Love' is their metal ballad with a catchy hook line. The second half of the CD returns to a hard driving format featuring a number of strong dueling guitar solos. DEAN DRENNAN – FIRE CLOUD PRODUCTIONS SAMPLER VOLUME 2: In 1998, Dean Drennan lost his job to a corporate takeover. Turning what could have been a negative situation into a positive, Dean - a guitarist, set up a home studio and began recording music. Since than he has released ten CD's with this sampler being number eleven. This twenty-song instrumental features tracks from his fifth through eighth CD projects. Mr. Drennan avoids musical categories as his songs are image filled blends of electronic, experimental, guitar, jazz, multi-cultural and new age. His music is inspiring and vivid. Dean's compositions incorporate noises from nature with sound effects from a synthesizer. Guitar leads are woven throughout these uplifting, self produced songs. Drennan uses three key guitars - a modified, rebuilt, 1957 Les Paul Jr., a Fender acoustic and a Fender strat. Dean's music is elevating and peaceful from the first song to the last note. With each listen, subtle sounds such as birds singing and other cool effects emerge. My particular favorites were 'Lemuria', 'Founding Fathers', 'Tierra Del Fuego', 'Angles Unaware', and 'Cliff Dwellers'. These tracks had textures and tones that were very appealing. Dean's production is crisp and clean and each song has something magical to offer! Relax and enjoy Sampler Volume 2!

DEB FERRARA – ANYTHING BUT ORDINARY: From an early age Deb has been perfecting her craft of songwriting, performing and producing. Ferrara's music is a spirited blend of pop and rock with shades of dance, adult contemporary, country and alternative. In addition to solo work, Deb has done a number of collaborations as well as film, TV and advertising projects. Her most recent twelve-track collection was mixed by Carter Humphrey who has worked with Rod Stewart. Ferrara is a soulful, versatile vocalist who composes energized arrangements despite lyrics about disappointing relationships. Samantha Newark on backing vocals complements Deb's strong, expressive leads. The multi-talented Dan Marfisi handles guitar, bass, keys and drums on Anything But Ordinary. The tracks are well produced and the trio creates rich, full-bodied songs. The CD opens with 'Underneath Your Star', which features a catchy beat and guitar riffs combined with stellar diverse vocal blends. 'Stupidly Beautiful' is a prime example of Deb and Samantha's vocals unifying and building on the instrumental energy provided by Dan. 'I Don't Like It' starts off with an edgy lead and moves into an up-tempo grove and appealing hook line. Subtle changes in musical direction give the track depth and drama. Anything But Ordinary is an apt title for Deb Ferrara's latest CD as she is an exceptional vocalist and composer!

Later her family moved to Texas where she learned to play the fiddle, guitar and mandolin. Today, Debbie lives in Nashville, Tennessee and is now also a singer/songwriter. Watson's music is down-home country with shades of blue grass, rockabilly and swing. Debbie pens descriptive, personal lyrics that are often presented in three part harmonies. Her five song EP starts with the title song. It is a witty tale about Saturday nights in Texas and features animated, country instrumentation. Debbie jokes about her big hair but she has a big voice too. 'I Meant Every Word She Said' is a sad, sweet ballad of unrequited love enhanced by a slide guitar. 'My Baby Thinks I'm Just Right' is a spirited, female anthem about accepting oneself. 'Remember How To Pray' is a rich, reflective song about growing up in the church. Rex, Badfinger David Bowie, Sweet, Roxy Music, Mott the Hoople, Electric Light Orchestra, Thin Lizzy, and Blondie. Said Joe Elliott, "I thought it was about time we showed the world what our true roots were... British pop rock from the early to mid ‘70s. The songs on this album are at least partly responsible for us making the kind of music that we do." Added Phil Collen, "We didn't want to make the standard covers album and gave this a lot of deep thought as Joe has been going on about doing this sort of project for 26 years. DELTA MOON – DELTA MOON: Delta Moon is the self-titled debut release from Delta Moon. The band was formed in 1996 and is well established in their founding city of Atlanta, Georgia. Delta Moon is a blend of roots-rock, country, honky-tonk and a heavy dose of the blues. Their music is reminiscent of the 20s and 30s with a completely modern spin. The three core members of the band are supported by a rotating rhythm section, which provides a steady solid beat throughout this eleven-track collection. The key members are Tom Gray on lap style guitar, piano and vocals; Mark Johnson on the bottleneck guitar; and, Gina Leigh who plays piano, hand percussion and vocals. Tom is an accomplished songwriter and is the author of the 'Money Changes Everything' made famous by Cyndi Lauper. All three come from diverse backgrounds of performing with other musicians, yet they build a very cohesive sound collectively. Musical influences included Robert Johnson and Little Feat. The duel slide guitars complement each other and give each song a rich bluesy feel. Gina whose voice is soulful, sultry and wonderful shares the vocals with Tom whose style is deep and expressive. The two mingle perfectly together on collaborations such as 'House of Dolls' which is also a good example of the impressive guitar interfaces found throughout this CD. 'Fooling Around' infused with the blues, demonstrates the synergy and skill of the group. The piano work on this and many of the songs is stellar. Delta Moon is on the rise and is gravitating!

DELTA MOON – DELTA MOON LIVE: Delta Moon was born in the late nineties and brings five talented players from various backgrounds together. This Atlanta-based band combines the delta blues with roots rock, country and funky slide guitars. Gina Leigh is the soulful lead vocalist whose full-bodied alto has on occasion been compared to Bonnie Raitt's. Gina sings with power, passion and versatility. Dueling guitar leads, big bottom bass and precise percussion make Delta Moon a force to be reckoned with. Delta Moon Live was recorded at The Cave located in Duluth, Georgia on February 21, 2003. This eleven-track collection captures the ambiance and synergy that this dynamic band has. Every track, either an original or a new arrangement of an old blues classic, is masterful. 'Raeline' is a hybrid of styles with saucy guitar licks, male and female harmonizing vocals and a punchy beat. 'Tilt-A-Whirl' spins expressive vocals with a cool beat and soulful instrumentation. 'Mean Town Blues', a Johnny Winter cover that clocks in over ten-minutes, gives the band ample time to jam and real put their heart and soul into the tune, which is exactly what they do.
